I've no idea how I found this book but after reading the sample chapters, I decided to download it. It's pretty formulaic with the build up and inevitable big misunderstanding, followed by the big cheesy moment and hea. I sound cynical but I think the thing that really annoyed me is our mama's boy H. The set up is that the h has a cupcake truck from where she sells cupcakes (obviously) but she dreams of owning her own bakery. She then inherits a garage where she can store her cupcake truck. The H works for his father in his financial services business but he inherits a bakery. The common denominator is the lady that left the main characters both the garage and the bakery. It turns out that the sweet lady that the h used to visit and bring treats to, is also the H's late aunt. The main characters first meet when the h knocks into the H and he gets smashed into his chocolate gelato near her cupcake truck. The h is very embarrassed but she's late for an appointment with the lawyer so she just gives him her business card. They then meet up again outside the bakery where the h reverses her truck into the H's car. They both happen to be meeting the same lawyer obviously. She gives him her business card again and dashes off. After hearing the news of their inheritances, they both realise that they want what the other has inherited. They strike a deal where the H will give her kitchen space to bake her cupcakes and she'll help him open his bakery. They have major chemistry, which they give into before they officially start working together. After that they struggle to keep their relationship to "business only". The thread through the book is the H's constant backing down to his parents demands, which made him look weak and pathetic. He behaved like the spoilt little rich kid giving in to mommy and daddy's demands regarding work and the appropriate girlfriend.

+++Spoilers+++
Towards the end of the book I had had enough of the bratty girl that the H's parents were keen for him to pair with. The H invites the h to his parents ball but when mommy phones and insists he take the other girl, he gives in and says yes. I'm still not sure how my Kindle survived that scene. He doesn't ever apologise for that little gem. There were way more aggravating things that happened e.g the H's parents interfering with the aunt's will, trying to buy off the h and trying to sell the bakery off for the H so he can go back to the daddy's business. Somehow the incident with the H backing down about the ball, was way more upsetting for me.

Anyway I wouldn't recommend this book unless you can overlook all of these things.

Truly Madly Sweetly Sweet Love Book 1 edition by Kira Archer Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

I feel cheated. Don’t get me wrong, Truly, Madly, Sweetly was a good story. Great even, as the banter between Nat and Eric had me smiling from cheek to cheek throughout the first part of the book.

But then, the unthinkable happened… Eric turned from hunky, sexy, take charge guy into a freakin’ mamma’s boy who couldn’t stand up to his parents even if his life depended on it… and it kind of did… and he failed.

Ok, so I might be over-dramatic-ing this, and yes, him having Mamma Mia as his mother’s ring tone (because it was a good movie) should have clued me in (can you imagine Tate from Sweet Dreams having ABBA as his anything on his phone? I don’t think so) but Alas! It didn’t. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and it came back to bite me in the butt.

So, the story Nat is a baker and is currently operating a cupcakery truck and she just inherited a parking lot with garage from her elderly landlady.

The guy she’s been crushing on for some time now is fortuitously the nephew of said landlady and has inherited the old bakery which the garage is attached to.

Eric sees this as the opportunity to finally do something he likes, as his career, job and future have all been decided by following his parents’ decisions. Eric and Nat come to an agreement Nat will help Eric learn how to operate and get the bakery on its feet and in exchange once the bakery is working she’ll get time in the kitchen to work on her cupcakes (a much better arrangement than the one she has currently going on).

The only problem with this setup is that they have great chemistry together and one night celebrating their new business venture ends up with them sharing the best sex of their lives. But Nat has had a very bad experience in the past and is not sure business and pleasure should mix.

We then learn Eric is apparently a spineless worm who won’t stand up to his parents for the woman he claims to like a lot. They in turn cause issues, along with a society bimbo Eric allows to get in his way. At one point I think I wrote “Hand back your man card, Dude!” on my .

While I loved some things about Truly, Madly, Sweetly (I really like Ms. Archer writing) Eric’s lack of true alphaness overshadowed my overall enjoyment of the story, making this an ok read for me personally but this doesn’t mean other people won’t not mind Eric being a wuss.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book*
As with mosthistorical books it is great to reas other interpretations of past events. This was one such book. Richard111 is currently becoming very fashionable and not as previously depicted
Cute and fun read. great for relaxing and taking a break.
Truly, Madly, Sweetly (Sweet Love, #bk 1) is a lighthearted romance about two people who fall in love at first sight but who are afraid to admit it. Natalie inherits from her friend kitchen space and it comes with it a hunky man who drives her sort of bonkers. Eric is that guy- they met previously and didn’t know who each other was to each other. There is a chemistry and they didn’t act on it and now that they have ties to each other, well, who knows what will happen.
Eric is a financial planner and he is looking in a way to chance careers. He sees Natalie as a way to make that change. Eric wants to take the place that his aunt left him and also to Natalie and expand it. But in order to do so, he needs her on board. As they work together; as they work together, you see how sweet and kind and smart Natalie is and you also see how intelligent and sexy Eric is. Another thing that you see is how into each other the MC are.
There were some great things in this story and some things that fell down in the story. Overall this was a cute and light read that you would breeze thru. It is light and enjoyable. The ending is does make up for the some of the questionable things in the story. Eric is definitely all man and Natalie is a smart and sweet lady who has a lot of ideas. I think the author had the right idea for the story, it just needed a bit more work in several places.

My rating 4.00 stars ****

**I was given an ARC the publisher in exchange for an honest review***
